MOPS

What is MOPS?
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. MOPS = Mothers, not all the same age...but all in the same phase of life. Women with different lifestyles and different backgrounds, but all with similar needs and a shared desire to be the best mothers they can be!

MOPS is dedicated to the message that better moms make a better world and that moms of young children need encouragement during these critical and early formative years. We recognize that the years from infancy to kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and are filled with unique needs.

Cedar Park MOPS provides encouragement, support, teaching, and friendships. In these relationships moms find answers for their simple, everyday dilemmas and discover a safe place to explore the deeper principles for life building. MOPS helps moms and MOPS makes a difference in the lives of their families.

MOPS International offers a wonderful array of resources such as books, a web site (www.mops.org), the daily MOMSense Radio program, and the MOPStoMom Connection. We are part of a larger vision and program, with over 2700 MOPS groups reaching out to more than 100,000 women around the world!

What happens at a meeting?

After a time of relaxed refreshments and conversation, moms have the opportunity to listen to a speaker. Our speakers deal with issues such as marriage, parenting, womanhood, family relationships and many other practical "how-to" topics, given from a biblical perspective. At each meeting the moms meet in a specific table group (A great way to get to know other moms just like you!) The intimate, safe, accepting atmosphere of these discussion groups are led by mothers themselves. Moms find out that they are NOT alone, that what they are doing DOES make a difference, and special friendships are often developed.

Mothers also have the opportunity to express their creativity by making a craft or participating in a creative activity. Many women feel a great sense of accomplishment as they complete a project they would probably not have the time or energy to attempt at home. This time not only builds self-confidence, but is a lot of fun! (Even if you don't consider yourself crafty!)

Is child care provided?
YES!! MOPPETS is the child care and learning program for your children- a very important part of our MOPS program! Infants and younger children receive safe and loving care, while older children enjoy a special learning program based on the Christian message of love as taught in the Bible. Classroom teachers help the children experience God's love for them through stories, games, music, and a craft.
