Presentation Sunday Success StoriesThese are just a few of the many miracle babies born from previous years. Page 1 | Page 2 | Page3 | Page 4 | Page 5
Doral and Toni Moore – and baby ElijahWe had tried to have a baby for 5 years. After three miscarriages, our doctor tested us and couldn’t find any reason for our difficulty. We then tried two rounds of intrauterine insemination at the UW which also failed. We had visited Cedar Park before, and attended last year’s Presentation Sunday. It was wonderful hearing the other couples’ stories and knowing that so many people were praying with us. It was an emotional day. After the service we decided to stop trying to hard and just leave it all in God’s hands. In approximately six weeks we were pregnant, and our healthy, beautiful baby boy, Elijah Michael, was born on November 26. We took him home on Thanksgiving Day!
Kevin and Jennifer Vietzke – and baby MatthewWe had been married for two years when we decided to start a family. After trying for three unsuccessful years, we began to seek medical help. We began testing and eventually underwent four artificial inseminations. However, none of them resulted in a pregnancy. We attended Presentation Sunday in January of 2001 with another couple who had conceived after attending in 1999. We proceeded with another unsuccessful insemination. That September, God opened the door for us to undergo an invitro fertilization procedure. The procedure was cancelled at the last minute because the necessary medication hadn’t worked. In January we went through a second procedure, and this time we met with success. On January 25, we heard the blessed news that we were pregnant. Matthew Connor was born on September 29. His name means “Gift of God,” and he truly is. It has been a long and difficult journey, but we wouldn’t change it. We’ve grown closer to God and have come to trust Him in every situation.
Scott and Michelle Weeda - and baby MaxMichelle was diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia on March 5, 1997. After it was determined that her brother, Lance was an identical tissue match, she underwent a successful bone marrow transplant on January 20, 1998. The chemotherapy that prepared her for her transplant had, however, made her infertile. We thank God that we knew of this effect in advance and through the generosity of family and physicians, were able to set aside some eggs before the procedure. It was not until the year after her transplant that we were advised that to attempt a pregnancy could put Michelle in serious risk of relapse. We attended Presentation Sunday at Cedar Park in 2000 and were prayed over. We left the service having no idea what doors God would open to increase our family, be it pregnancy or adoption. Within a year, the doors were flung open with the news that the risks could be nearly eliminated. With miraculous provision, we attempted to get pregnant and were successful the first try! Baby boy Max was added to our family on 3/17/02. God is Great!
Doug and Katena Gunn, and OliviaThey had adopted a child in 1994 and were praying for another child. Their little girl, Olivia, was conceived soon after that prayer and was born in August, six weeks early. The Gunn’s have seen God’s hand in every step of their ten-year journey toward parenthood, through infertility and the adoption process. They are eternally grateful to the Lord. Doug and Katena Gunn attended Presentation Sunday at Cedar Park in January of 2000.
JD and DeeDee Webster, and Jake and NoahAfter marrying in 1992, DeeDee miscarried their first child. Unable to conceive, they began infertility treatment in April of 1999. They attended the Presentation Service in January of 2000 and proceeded with an invitro-fertilization procedure on February 29. After four years of infertility struggles, they were told on March 2, 2000 that they were expecting twins. Jake and Noah were born October 18th!
Todd and Jeanie Eggebraaten, and NoelTodd and Jeanie tried for 2 ½ years to start their family. They underwent fertility treatment for a year and a half, experiencing much heartache. They attended the Presentation Service in January of 1999 and the next month Jeanie underwent invitro-fertilization. One month later they found out they were expecting their baby. They named their little girl Noel, which means Christ Birth, to honor the Lord. They are thankful for the Lord’s faithfulness to them in honoring their prayers.
Chris and Susanne Langerveld, and HenryAfter experiencing years of infertility and two unsuccessful artificial insemination procedures, the Langervelds attended the Presentation Sunday service in January of 2000. Soon Boeing went on strike and Chris was not working. In late April they began to discuss pursuing treatment once again.Susanne went to her doctor and agreed to having an ultrasound which was part of the normal work-up for fertility treatment. The ultrasound technician saw a heartbeat during the study and the Langervelds learned that Susanne was six weeks along. Henry David Langerveld was born on November 24, 2000.
James and Betty Hall, and RyanMarried in 1993, the Halls waited a few years to try and start a family. Then they found it wasn’t easy. After some time and medication Betty was seen at the University of Washington where she was told she had Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome which blocks the body from releasing eggs and prevents pregnancy. The recommended prescription yielded no results. Adoption seemed financially out of their reach as did other treatment suggested to them. They decided to take a break from treatment and considered pursuing more affordable treatment out of the country. In December, 1999, Betty struck up a conversation with a woman in the grocery line who had a brand new baby. The woman shared with her about the special Presentation Sunday services and how she felt that God had blessed her and her husband with a baby as a result of their prayers. Later the same week, someone from Betty’s church shared a similar story of another couple who had also gone to the prayer service and became pregnant soon after. James and Betty attended Presentation Sunday Services in January of 2000. A blood test a month later revealed that Betty had not only ovulated, a miracle in itself, but that she was pregnant. Ryan Matthew Hall was born November 9th, 2000. He is certainly their miracle baby!
Schork, Peter and Kathy, and LiannaAfter 4 years of infertility struggles, the couple attended the Presentation Sunday services in 1999 and 2000. They had an invitro-fertilization procedure soon after and were successful on the first try. Doctors had feared some possible complications, especially with Kathy’s age of 43, but Lianna Tierra Aleksandria Schork was born on October 19, 2000 and in perfect health.
Wes and Vanessa Garoutte - NoelleWe had been trying for 2 ½ years to have a baby. We are members of Cedar Park Assembly and we went forward for prayer in January of 1998. We became pregnant, but lost the baby. Again we went forward for prayer on Presentation Sunday of 1999. We learned in May that we were expecting and Noelle Kristeen Garoutte was born on December 20th, 1999.
Carolyn, Daniel and DeronWe had been trying to have a baby for 7 years, having gone through 2 unsuccessful invitro procedures. I called a friend who knew someone else that had spoken of a church where they prayed for babies. Cedar Park Church prayed for us on Presentation Sunday, January 28th, 1997. We had an appointment with an adoption agency for February 2, but we met with a birth mother on January 29th to pursue a private adoption instead. Deron was born on April 20th, and we had our baby boy in only 3 months! We are so thankful for God’s blessing!
Les, Joan and Sharee MorseLes and Joan had been trying for about a year to conceive. On a trip to the Seattle area, they were prayed for at Cedar Park Church in the summer of 1997. She became pregnant, but miscarried. They tried again using various procedures and medications with no success. They became very despondent and felt abandoned by God. Joan was told she needed back surgery so all medications were stopped. Shortly after her surgery she discovered she was pregnant. Sharee was born on 12/8/98. They testify that even when we give up on God, He never gives up on us!
Bud, Ronnie and Nicole YonkerWe had been unsuccessful conceiving children. Two sets of dear friends had attended previous Presentation Sunday Prayer Services and had been blessed with children. They urged us to attend and we agreed that prayer was what we needed. We attended the prayer service in January 1998. Our friends at our home church, St. Mark's Catholic, saw our picture in a newspaper story about the prayer service and also prayed for us. Our miracle baby arrived in February, 1999. |
